AutPlay Therapy Introduction

This play therapy training will introduce participants to AutPlay Therapy, a neurodiversity informed and affirming framework for implementing child and play therapy with neurodivergent children. AutPlay Therapy is a guiding framework for therapy goal planning and implementation and is understanding of the neurodiversity among play therapy child clients.
Learning Objectives
Participants will be able to:
- identify an overview of neurodiversity, the neurodiversity paradigm, and neurodivergence to aid with their neurodivergent play therapy clients.
- describe the AutPlay framework as it applies to play therapy goal planning and implementation.
- demonstrate 3 play therapy interventions which are neurodiversity affirming.
Level of training: Intermediate | Play Therapy Special Topics, Play Therapy and Cultural Diversity (neurodivergent diversity)
This training is approved by APT Approved Provider 97-035 for 3 Non-Contact CE hours.
About our presenter: Tracy is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor™ at her private practice, Seva Counseling LLC, in Milledgeville Georgia. Prior to private practice, Tracy was an elementary school counselor, and worked as a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor™ in a children’s psychiatric hospital. In addition to private practice, Tracy is a national speaker and author of several books relating to Play Therapy topics. Tracy is a Certified Animal Assisted Play Therapist, and often brings her Certified Therapy Carly to client sessions. Carly has been an important piece of her therapy practice, providing a great deal of comfort to her clients. Tracy is also a Dialectical Behavior Therapy practitioner, and incorporates many DBT techniques into Play Therapy sessions. Although Tracy works with clients of all ages, she specializes in young adult to older adult clients who have recently discovered they are/may be neurodivergent. She is knowledgable in the IEP/504 process, and works closely with parents to ensure their child’s educational needs are being addressed. Tracy works with neurodivergent children as well, incorporating Play Therapy; AutPlay Therapy specifically into her client session Tracy is offering both individual and group supervision on Fridays only from 10:00a.m.-2:00p.m EST. AZAPT requests that video cameras be on and participants be visible throughout the presentation to facilitate engagement. Participants will be awarded APT Non-Contact CE upon successful completion of a post test.
AZAPT is approved by the Association for Play Therapy to offer continuing education specific to Play Therapy. APT Approved Provider 97-035. AZAPT maintains responsibility for the program. Registrants understand and agree that any photograph, video or audio recording of themselves may be used to further promote AZAPT.
Cancellation Policy: All cancellations must be requested in writing and received no later than March 21, 2025. Cancellations are subject to a $20 processing fee. Substitutions (someone else attending) or transfer of registration to another training date may be requested. No refunds after March 21, 2025.
