Play Therapy: Adlerian Style - An Introduction to Adlerian Play Therapy

Adlerian Play Therapy, founded by Terry Kottman, integrates the concepts and techniques of Adlerian Therapy into the world of play therapy. The workshop describes the foundations of Adlerian Play Therapy as well as the four stages of building a relationship, exploring lifestyle, gaining insight, and re-educating/re-orienting. The concepts of the Crucial C's and Personality Priorities as it relates to Adlerian Play Therapy will also be discussed. The workshop also includes the teaching of a minimum of five (5) Adlerian based play therapy techniques to utilize in the playroom. A case example of Adlerian Play Therapy being used in the playroom will be shared.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will be able to:
- Explain the basic foundations of Adlerian Play Therapy.
- Identify and discuss the four (4) phases of Adlerian Play Therapy.
- Practice usage of the Crucial C's when conceptualizing a client through the lens of Adlerian Play Therapy.
- Demonstrate understanding of Personality Priorities via the lens of Adlerian Play Therapy through case conceptualization.
- Utilize a minimum of five (5) Adlerian Play Therapy based play therapy techniques in the playroom.

About our presenter: Dana Holtz, EdS, RPT-S, C-AdPT, NCC is a School Psychologist, a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor and certified Adlerian Play Therapist. She incorporates the tenets of Adlerian Play Therapy in her current setting, a K-8 Elementary School in Las Vegas, NV. With over 20 years of experience working with children and adolescents in a variety of settings, play therapy remains her passion.

VIRTUAL: This will be a virtual meeting so participants can see each other. Participants will be awarded APT CONTACT CE upon successful completion of a post test. Due to COVID-19 health concerns, this one-time online event has been approved by APT for 3 CONTACT CE Hours.
AZAPT is approved by the Association for Play Therapy to offer continuing education specific to Play Therapy. APT Approved Provider 97-035. AZAPT maintains responsibility for the program. Registrants understand and agree that any photograph (screenshot), video or audio recording of themselves may be used to further promote AZAPT.
Cancellation Policy: All cancellations must be requested in writing and received no later than November 1, 2021. Cancellations are subject to a $15 processing fee. Substitutions (someone else attending) or transfer of registration to another training date may be requested. No refunds after November 1, 2021.
