Lunch & Learn: Play Therapy Techniques for Your Everyday Practice

Presented by Juliet Fortino, MC, LPC, RPT-S

Sometimes it can be a challenge to find fun, engaging play therapy techniques to use with clients in sessions. Other times, it can be a challenge to adapt a play therapy technique to use with multiple ages or multiple topics. In this lunch and learn, you will learn five play therapy interventions that can be used with multiple populations and to address multiple topics in your daily practice. Be prepared to engage and play!

Learning Objectives: 

Participants will be able to:

1. explain the importance of applying play therapy theory to play therapy techniques.

2. list at least 5 play therapy techniques that can be used for multiple purposes.

3. demonstrate at least one play therapy technique across multiple populations and topics.

Level of training: Intermediate

2 CONTACT CEs toward the Techniques/Methods Content Requirement

Participants will need paper, crayons/markers/colored pencils, tape/glue stick for this presentation.


About our presenter: Juliet Fortino, MC, LPC, Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor works with children and Families involved with Department of child Safety and the various child mental health agencies in the Tucson community in a private practice setting. She has 23 years experience working with child trauma, abuse, attachment, and play therapy. She currently uses play therapy in individual and family therapy to help children heal from their previous traumas. She has extensive experience working with children of all ages, including the 0-5 age group. She speaks locally and nationally on a variety of topics. 

AZAPT Members & Participants $35

Limited to 40 participants.

VIRTUAL: This will be a virtual meeting. Participants will be awarded CONTACT CE upon successful completion of a post test.

AZAPT is approved by the Association for Play Therapy to offer continuing education specific to Play Therapy. APT Approved Provider 97-035. AZAPT maintains responsibility for the program. Registrants understand and agree that any photograph, video or audio recording of themselves may be used to further promote AZAPT.

Cancellation Policy: All cancellations must be requested in writing and received no later than June 2, 2020. Cancellations are subject to a $25 processing fee. Substitutions (someone else attending) or transfer of registration to another training date may be requested.
