Child-Centered Play Therapy

In this workshop, participants will gain an understanding of the basic principles and practice of child-centered play therapy. The workshop will cover elements of child centered play therapy such as: CCPT oriented listening and responding skills, the stages embedded in child centered play therapy process, and the method for limit setting within play therapy sessions. This will be an interactive and experiential workshop where participants will have the opportunity to share their own play therapy experiences and interact with the play therapy materials! So come join us for an informational evening where you will not only gain knowledge and skill, you will also have fun!
Learning Objectives:
Following this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Utilize Basic Principles of Child-Centered Play Therapy.
- Utilize child centered listening & responding skills.
- Describe the stages of Child-Centered Play Therapy.
- Discuss the process for limit setting in the play therapy setting following the guidelines of CCPT.
- Explain the process of choosing appropriate play therapy materials/toys.

About our presenter: Randi Roggeman, MC, LPC, NCC, RPT-S has been in private practice in Mesa, Arizona, since 2003. She offers individual, family, and couples counseling for children, adolescents, and adults. Prior to opening her private practice, Randi served the Arizona behavioral health community for over twenty years in non-profit public agencies, including the Regional Behavioral Health Authority. She has extensive experience as an outpatient therapist and served as the Clinical Director/Director of Outpatient Services at Chrysalis. She participated on the board of the Arizona Branch for the Association for Play Therapy, including as Board President, for many years. Randi is sought out to present at industry conferences and workshops.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Arizona State University followed by a Master of Counseling at the University of Phoenix in 1997. She has been an Arizona State Board Licensed Professional Counselor since 1999, a Registered Play Therapist & Supervisor since 2007, and a National Certified Counselor since 2010. She is a Consultant/Reviewer for the PESI/CMI Advisory Board and an Arbonne Independent Consultant.
