The Use of Play Therapy with Adults

Presented by Katie Farner, MS, LPC, MFT, RPT

Description: We all know how valuable play therapy can be for children. What many of us don’t know is how valuable it can be with adults. This workshop will explore how to incorporate play therapy with adult clients. Research to show the efficacy of adult play therapy will be discussed and techniques will be provided. Participants will also explore how to adapt techniques used for children and teens to make them useful for adult sessions.  Come explore why play therapy with adults is both important AND effective.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will:

  • Learn a brief history of play therapy.
  • Explore the current research on play therapy for adults.
  • Understand how play therapy with adults is effective and which clients it benefits the most.
  • Learn techniques for use with adults in the play room.
