Filial Play Therapy

Filial Play Therapy is one of the historially significant/seminarl theories recognized by the Association for Play Therapy. This three-hour workshop will provide a brief overview of the history of Filial Play Therapy, a review of the founders, a well as the basic core tenets.We will review the therapeutic powers of play most commonly activated within this theory and will observe examples of therapeutic interventions for this historically significant approach.

Participants will:
- Identify the core tenets of Filial Play.
- Identify how the therapeutic powers of play are activated within Filial Play.
- List 3-5 techniques play therapists utilize in Filial Play.

About our presenter: MariaElena Jauregui is a LPCC, RPT™, holds an endorsement of Infant Mental Health Specialist, and is currently working toward becoming a RPT-S™. MariaElena fell in love with Play Therapy during her internship and has continued to grow her skills since. She spreads the word about Play Therapy as a counselor with the families she works with, as an instructor for teachers and interns who do their work in the center where she is based, and as a continuing education provider for Play Therapy in the rural area where she lives.

Cancellation Policy: All cancellations must be requested in writing and received no later than October 1, 2023. Cancellations are subject to a $20 processing fee. Substitutions (someone else attending) or transfer of registration to another training date may be requested. No refunds after October 1, 2023.
